Met Gala 2024 Red Carpet Looks: See Every Celebrity Outfit and Dress from one of the biggest fashion event of the year – via Vogue
The 6th of May 2024, New York, USA – The biggest fund raising fashion event of the year, Met Gala, took place at the Met Museum in New York as the ‘tradition’ has taught us by now. The celebrities have attended the Gala with this year’s theme “Sleepeing beauties – reawakening fashion” and revealed spectacular looks following the proposed dresscode “The Garden of Time” on a eden-looking, green-ish and flowery red carpet in tandem with the proposed theme.
It was all a feast for the eye where brands chose their ambassadors to wear their garments specially prepared during hundreds of hours of work for the Gala event and the many after gala parties and events. As it happens every year there are brands which made waves and stole the spotlight with unique gownsa like Givenchy, Schiaparelli, Maison Margiela, Oscar de la Renta, Swarovski, Balmain, Balenciaga, Loewe, Marni, Versace but we must share our praise to all the participants for their exquisite presence at the event. Among all the lovely surprise of the evening w the participation of H&M with 5 custom made gowns worn by celebrities.
But let’s have a Met Gala general event overview prepared by Vogue for the delight of all readers in love with fashion….This year’s exhibit, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” examines how technology can breathe new life into garments that are too old and fragile to be worn again.
Last night, guests ascended the museum’s famed steps wearing outfits that gave a nod to the event’s “The Garden of Time” dress code, and you can see all of last night’s Met Gala 2024 looks right here. The night’s sartorial theme gets its name from a J.G. Ballard story about a count who—to stave off an angry mob nearing his castle—cuts a rose from his garden to slow down time until there are no flowers remaining. With the story’s dystopian undertones in tandem with the exhibit’s emphasis on old and new, we saw a red carpet filled with everything from florals to techno-inspired fashion—and even a Sleeping Beauty reference or two.
The gala, which fundraises for the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute, is known for having a very secretive guest list. But while the attendees’ names are kept tightly under wraps, we now know everyone who graced the carpet in their garden party finery: including Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, and Zendaya, who are served as co-chairs alongside Vogue’s Anna Wintour.
But first, in no particular order, let’s have a look at the gowns which stole the spotlight and press attention. Enjoy the wonderful scenery and suggest your favourites to us on our instagram page FM24!
