February 2023, New York, USA – New York Fashion Week is opened by a thematic show for the Collina Strada Fall-Winter 2023 collection suggestively entitled “Please Don’t Eat My Friends!” which was held in the House of Cannabis in SoHo, NYC.

The show presented many of the designer’s friends, people of all ages, sizes and physical abilities, strutting the runway in a room painted earthy green and under a soundtrack involving barks and roars.

The theme of the collection was meant to express the core of the way the brand is built built her on an environmentally responsible base, using mostly biodegradable, deadstock, organic or recycled materials.

After the online humming two weeks ago at Haute Couture in Paris after Schiaparelli has put a lion head over a dress causing the audience to think of hunting, the Collina Strada designer, Hillary Taymour, wished to continue the environment care idea with her designs presented at New York.

The designer’s work based on sustainability was included in the Met’s “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” exhibition, and Kim Petras wore Collina Strada to the Met Gala in September 2021.

Aside from Vans, Ms. Taymour has collaborated with Levi’s and Melissa, a Brazilian shoe company; she has also been considered for a big-brand creative directorship.
