Another season of Paris Fashion Week, another epic Chanel fashion page, this time one presented digitally to the brand’s lovers.
Virginie Viard, the artistic director of the house, known for her artistic boldness, had a special choice in matters of location to show the collection, the legendary party club Chez Castel that has enriched the Parisian party scene for generations. Now that Grand Palais had to close for renovations, Virginie felt that it would be the perfect timing to go back to the way the shows in the 70’s were done: in small clubs and in a very intimate, cosy ambiance.
One by one the top models came down the narrow stairs of Chez Castel and then out in the street on Rue Princesse, dressed in fake-fur suits, coats and pieces in classic black and white mingled with tones of pink, dark blue, warm colour details with materials, cuts and patterns throwing back to the Chanel 1994 fall line but mixed with the nowadays winter spirit.
Once again, Virginie Viard wanted to bring a personal perspective to the ready-to-wear Chanel fall line, one inspired by the glamorous Parisian style projected into the present and the near future when we will all relive the golden times of social scene.
