July 2021, Paris, France – A manifestation of haute-couture fashion took place between the majestic Palais Galliera walls, the epicentre of Fashion Week in Paris.

The new Haute-Couture Chanel collection imagined by artistic director of the house, Virginie Viard, proposes a fall-winter line inspired by a series of photographs with Gabrielle Chanel dressed in 19th century crinolines for society costume balls in the 1930s.

The line brings together picturesque details from the Parisian jazz age and Impressionist works mixed into an airy, light collection.

Virginie Viard magnetized in the making of the collection the wonderful works from great embroidery houses in Paris Lesage, Cécile Henri, atelier Emmanuelle Vernoux, and atelier Montex, and the feather and flower designers Lemarié who recreated the Impressionist feeling in each of the garments making them look breathtaking.But as magnificent and rich as they look the pieces are light and weightless being all embroidered on tulle and chiffon.

In a synergie of romance, richness and Chanel-like ellements, the fall line is a true Impressionist expression into the modern fashion of haute-couture, a dialog with the Coco Chanel originals from the 1920’s and 1930’s.
