The PRESSIAT Sauvage Glam

Pressiat FW 22/23 allure for the next Autumn-Winter season began with an impression of a savage Nordic wilderness, and a 1940s silhouette. A Pressiat Sauvage Glam. The overall effect is executed through impeccable tailoring and couture.

The 40’s inverted triangle shape is used throughout the collection, often exaggerated to fantastical proportions using corsetry techniques and padding for volume and structure of sleeves and collars. Snap buttons make many of the pieces interchangeable, transforming looks into different possibilities with removable pieces. Luxurious, feminine body defining dresses, are paired with American Football faux fourrure boleros.

Natures’ rawness is reflected through the techniques and materials, such as a Couture padded jacket shredded and torn to create the illusion of an explosion of snow and ice shards. A sorciere’s gown of crin and guipure worn with horse hoof boots that on closer inspection have pigs’ trotters imprint on the heel.

Double-sense androgynes styles, military 40’s coats, boxy pant suits. A gilet trouser top, a corset trouser dress can be worn as a bustier or a skirt. Nothing is quite as it seems, press studs allow a carnal undoing of pieces, unclipping to reveal more. Snapping off a sleeve, or clipping on panels allows for transformation of shape. Some interchangeable pieces offer 6 styles for one look.

The colour palette is snowflake white, shades of burgundy and jet black. Materials are tweed, vinyl, knit, faux fourrure. The anatomic trompe l’oeil Nikkria print is used for tops and dresses. The looks & silhouettes are highlighted with hats of faux fourrure, military field caps treated to sresemble the decaying mountain rocks finished with Mohicans. Newly developed line of santiag boots and an oversized faux fourrure bag and aviator glasses complete the accessories.

Vincent Garnier Pressiat is a young designer who graduated from IFM. He earned his stripes at John Galliano, Maison Margiela, Saint Laurent and Balmain. He launched his own brand during Paris Fashion week AW21. Pressiat is meant to be an elegant and casual brand, men and women are drawn into a world where all inhibitions fall, where light triumphs over the shadowy specter of society. The brand adapts the traditional codes of different eras to bring them to a refreshing and roaring modernity.
