9th of September 2022, New York, USA – New York Fashion Week moves along with a 20 years “birthday celebration” show for Proenza Schouler which puts a fresh spin on the brand’s future. The designers behind the New York-based label Proenza Schouler, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez are bringing to front the It boy title.

The creations presented by the models are inspired by the Latin traditional elements like flamenco ruffles, flowers, decorating twist-front dresses, piped bell sleeves, twist-front dresses decorated with polka dots, piped bell.They hold the Latin identity of Lazaro Hernandez who is Cuban and felt like expressing a personal view of the collection.

The models who catwalked for the brand looked just like stepping off a dance floor of just coming out of the sea with the background of projected waterfalls on the walls of the venue and the ASMR-triggering soundtrack to complete the atmosphere.

“We’re just talking about the idea of energy, of joy, of sensuality; these things that sometimes we feel are lost in our lives, to be honest, and we’re trying to find a way to get them back,” McCollough said.

A real show to celebrate and honour the huge 20 years milestone of the brand is no small thing. The creations this season were made with working with a community of weavers from Bolivia over telephone and email, a thing which brought a real joy for the workers and for the designers themselves.
