COS PRESENTS ITS SPRING SUMMER 2025 COLLECTION IN ATHENS
On 2 April, COS returned to the runway for its first-ever show in Athens, presenting the brand’s Spring Summer 2025 collection. The runway was brought to life within the cavernous Dionyssomarble Quarry, which upholds a rich legacy in marble, the same variety once used by the ancient Greeks to sculpt the Parthenon and the Erechtheion on the Acropolis.
The enveloping marble walls created a striking contrast to the collection’s clean minimalism and sculptural lines. Models elegantly descended a steel staircase, looping in and out of the cave, showcasing 35 looks. The experience presented a powerful dialogue between structure and fluidity, strength and softness.
Defined by craftsmanship, the latest collection explores precision in cut and signature detailing. In womenswear, creative expressions emerge through softly sculptured silhouettes and draped elements, while tailoring is reimagined with a deconstructed sensibility. Echoing Renaissance art, cascading fabrics create fluidity, and ethereal transparency reveals glimpses of the body as lightweight materials move effortlessly. Inspired by these elements, key pieces in the collection are draped on the stand, sculpted and twisted to form fluid, feminine silhouettes. The looks are finished with pointed suede mules, classic ballerinas and minimalist knitted sock boots.

A pared-back utility style in menswear takes centre stage, emphasised through functional details. Classic styles are revisited with sleeveless tailoring, bringing a fresh perspective to traditional designs. Silk sets introduce an effortless elegance, while Bermuda shorts are presented as a refined yet relaxed summer staple. Adding a luxurious and contemporary edge to warm-weather dressing, light summer leather jackets are layered over elevated essentials with soft rib textures. The menswear garments are complemented by timeless soft leather sandals or mule loafers – classic designs with a contemporary twist.
This season, COS also introduces a unique marbled print inspired by Renaissance paintings, created by pressing flower buds against a lens, capturing a soft blur with delicate details. The seasonal palette is built around a foundation of off-whites, warm earth tones, and deep brown. Muted blues transition into rich navy, while soft terracotta adds vibrancy to womenswear.
Quality and longevity remain at the collection’s core; adjustable elements ensure the perfect fit, while considered material innovation is seen through the presentation of a classic shirt style, crafted from Materra Hydroponic Cotton—cotton grown in an indoor environment with controlled application of water and nutrients without the need for arable land or conventional irrigation.

About Dionyssomarble:The journey began in 1877 when the progenitors of the Dionysso Marble Quarry re-opened the ancient quarries on the northern side of Mount Penteli. A rich legacy in marble remains to this day and Dionysso Marble Quarry proudly stands as the sole producer of Pentelic marble—the very stone the ancient Athenians used to lay the foundations of democracy and sculpt the marvels of the Golden Age of Pericles. Dedicated to keeping the memories of this tradition alive by supporting the arts and the community, donations to sculptors and local organisations are ongoing, visitors are welcomed to the quarries, and there is an established Open Museum of Quarrying Art, at the old quarry of Aloula, in the North Side of Mount Penteli. These efforts aim to celebrate and perpetuate the timeless legacy of Greek marble craftsmanship.

A note on the Sustainability – COS partnered with Bureau Betak on the show production, the first significant agency worldwide specialising in the fashion luxury sector to receive ISO 20121 certification for sustainable event management. Materials utilised in the set of the Spring Summer 2025 show are either rented or components are installed and dismantled in such a way to maintain their quality and will be donated, to find a new life. In support of this, Dionyssomarble is helping to recycle the entire show set by repurposing materials locally.
Show space rental fee donation – COS and Dionyssomarble have agreed that the rental fees for the show venue will directly fund reforestation efforts in the surrounding area, supporting environmental restoration. As part of this initiative, approximately 10,000 trees will be planted and cared for over the next three years to promote long-term growth and survival. Each tree represents around 25 sqm of reforested land, contributing to the restoration of approximately 250,000 sqm of forest. The trees will be planted across the greater quarry area, the northern suburbs of Athens, and the northern slopes of Mt. Penteli—regions heavily impacted by wildfires.
