GLOBAL FASHION COLLECTIVE takes New York!

September 2021, New York City – One of the fashion platforms which has always reunited and promoted international fashion designers has returned to the runways of New York City this fashion season ready to rock and amaze the industry one more time.

As you might have already guessed, we are talking about Global Fashion Collective, the platform supporting creative designers from around the world. GFC has produced during the past years runways showcased in different fashion capitals with the aim to accelerate the designer’s global development, increase their international media visibility, and open up new markets.

Organised in two series of shows which presented many talented international designers, Global Fashion Collective aimed for fashion perfection one more time!

This season’s Global Fashion Collective first show showcased successfully featured 4 talented designers who evoked the essence of Heritage. Global Fashion Collective is proud to announce the success of our following international designers,  Ay Lelum, C’EST D, CEDIM and Irene De La Vega. 

First up on the runway, spearheading Global Fashion Collection I (Future of Heritage) was designers Ay Lelum. The sisters burst through the flames of adversity to present their newest collection: Steeqeeye’. Carving out history through textiles arts and music. Ay Lelum shocked the audience with their physical manifestation. 

C’EST D smashed through stigma with a powerful show about body positivity and inclusivity. C’ EST D designer Doyeon reminds us that fashion is all about expressing ourselves and being confident in your own skin. This collection emphasized the use of a playful colour palette while bringing soft colours to bright.  This spirited and innovative clothing line provided the ‘choices’ that are missing right now in the industry and did it so well. 

CEDIM The School Of Design killed the runway while presenting the “Mind of our generation’ collection. The handpicked students Alexia, Alexa, Ana Paula, Carolina, Lorena and Valeria embraced their youth while creating a showcase that was unforgettable. From their use of bright colours to visually intriguing silhouettes, the CEDIM’s designs pushed the boundaries of reality.

Irene De La Vega dazzled the stage with her newest evening wear collection: Renacer, which means reborn. Inspired by nature and her surroundings Irene brought a feminine touch with a bold style to the runway. The collection was committed to creating unique and exclusive pieces, based on vibrant colours, ruffles, lace, corsets and transparencies to reinvigorate fashion. Irene’s objective is for females to feel completely confident with their silhouette.

The season’s Global Fashion Collective second show presented successfully 5 talented designers who were hand-picked on an international scale: Unusual, Saint Jesus Carlton Jones, Saral Zens and Blue Tamburin. 

Unusual  presented “wasted youth” about conveying the state of mind of an unstable individual through the progression of youth. The 19 year old designer addressed miscommunication and misunderstanding, as [unusual] speaks for the creatives and kids who cannot express themselves. Each look In the collection, felt as though it has a story that you needed to know. 
Saint Jesus  took the city by storm, captivating the audience with her new collection “BRVNO”. The designer utilized her Chilean roots to inspire the collection’s colour scheme and the essence for the overall showcase concept. 
Carlton Jones the collection is a visual representation of celebrating life. The vibrant colours and chic neutrals were a perfect transition from sand to streets. Carlton Jones perfectly balanced the contrast between nature and our evolving digital age, by incorporating techniques and prints that together create an appealing aesthetic. Accessories by Laruicci, Jessica Rich, Linus and Joy Kim.
Saral Zens presented their gorgeously sculptural collection of black and white garments. Saral Liu and Denny Zens focus on simple deconstruction art, whilst weaving in irregular tailoring Chinese details to question the contradictory system escapism and comfort of living in the city.
Blue Tamburin‘s designs brought a new feeling to classic silhouettes, as their collection’s colour scheme painted the runway with shades blue. The designer presented a collection that incorporated uniqueness, self-expression and freedom within their personal designs.  Blue Tamburin introduced a solution to authenticate and prove ownership of non-modulation fashion products by applying NFT (Non-Fungible Token) technology in their jacket seen above.
