Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week FW26: Bucharest Strengthens Its Role on Eastern Europe’s Fashion Map
From March 24–28, 2026, Bucharest reaffirmed its growing influence in the regional fashion landscape during the fourth edition of Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week (MBBFW). The event brought together established designers, emerging talents, cultural institutions and international industry leaders for five days dedicated to creativity, sustainability and innovation.
Organized under the Council of Fashion Designers of Romania, the platform continues its mission to position Bucharest as a regional hub for fashion and cultural dialogue. With Mercedes-Benz as strategic partner, the event further strengthened its presence within the European fashion calendar.
Next Generation and Industry Dialogue
The opening day focused on Next Generation, highlighting emerging talent and the intersection between education and industry. The conference “Let’s Talk Fashion and Beyond” featured speakers including Massimiliano Giornetti (Director of Polimoda), Dalia Bologan (Creative & Culture MBA Director at ASE), Andrei Sendrea (Selection Director at Fashion Days), designer Maria Lucia Hohan, architect Paolo Giachi (Founder of Giachi Design Milano), Anca Ghiorghiu (Group PR & Events Manager at NEPI Rockcastle) and lawyer Luca Rinaldi.
Discussions addressed fashion education, brand development, retail innovation and the legal frameworks shaping the creative industries.
The program also included hands-on initiatives such as the “First Steps to a Creative Business” workshop and Creative Lab sessions, where participants explored retail concept development, visual storytelling and product design within real market contexts. The day concluded with the Next Generation Party, bringing together students, creatives and professionals.

Two static presentations complemented the runway schedule: Maria Lucia Hohan (MLH) hosted a presentation in her showroom, while Proenza Schouler, curated by APPARTERE, was showcased on the main stage.

Another notable highlight was KULTHO’s “Indulgent Luxury” experience, a multisensory showcase combining fashion, fine jewelry and live performance, exploring luxury as a personal and conscious expression of identity.
Beyond the Runway
The professional core of the event was the MBBFW Showroom at Corinthia Hotel Bucharest, where FW26/27 collections were presented to international buyers from Galeries Lafayette, Liberty London, Hankyu Department Store and Tomorrow Ltd, creating direct connections between designers and global retail markets.
One of the most conceptually impactful projects was Sightless Fashion, a multisensory experience by glissando.pov in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, exploring fashion beyond visual perception through sound and material textures while opening discussions around inclusion and accessibility for visually impaired audiences.
Beyond the runway, the city was activated through networking dinners, informal gatherings and industry parties. The Influencer House amplified the event’s digital reach, while the Archive Sale allowed the public to engage with designers through archival pieces highlighting sustainability and fashion heritage.
The 2026 edition of Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week took place across several iconic venues in central Bucharest, reinforcing the platform’s ambition to position “Made in Romania” as an internationally recognized label.
