Guccicore by Demna: The Beautiful Collapse of Luxury – with “Guccicore,” Demna delivers more than a debut collection for Gucci — he presents a sharp cultural statement about the future of luxury fashion. Unveiled with the intensity and spectacle that have become synonymous with his creative language, the collection rejects the idea of quiet elegance and instead embraces contradiction, exaggeration, and emotional tension. It is Gucci reimagined for a generation shaped by digital overload, internet irony, and constant self-performance.
Under the electric chaos of Times Square, Demna delivered a spectacular cultural reset for Gucci with the house’s Cruise 2027 presentation, unofficially christened “Guccicore” by fashion insiders. More than a runway show, it felt like a cinematic takeover of New York itself — a collision of luxury, irony, celebrity culture, and American consumer excess projected across dozens of towering digital billboards.
Demna’s vision for Gucci moved away from polished Italian glamour and leaned into a more chaotic, urban realism. The collection explored what everyday dressing looks like through the Gucci lens: oversized trench coats, sharp Wall Street tailoring, slouched leather jackets, pencil skirts, faux-fur outerwear, washed hoodies, and exaggerated evening gowns all collided in a deliberate state of “undone glamour.” Accessories played a huge role in defining the narrative — oversized backpacks, yoga mats, dark sunglasses, gloves, and chunky handbags transformed ordinary city essentials into luxury statements. Demna’s styling made the mundane feel provocative again.

What made the show unforgettable was its theatrical scale. Fifty giant screens surrounding Times Square displayed fictional Gucci advertisements for imaginary products like Gucci Gym, Gucci Pets, Gucci chocolate, and even wellness supplements, blurring the line between satire and commerce. The spectacle perfectly reflected Demna’s long-standing fascination with branding and mass consumption while positioning Gucci at the center of pop culture conversation.
The runway itself became a parade of icons. Tom Brady surprised guests with a leather-clad runway appearance, while Paris Hilton stunned with dramatic brunette hair and a bright yellow belted dress. Cindy Crawford closed the show in a dramatic feathered black gown, marking one of her rare runway returns.
The guest list was equally explosive. Mariah Carey, Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan, Shawn Mendes, Playboi Carti, Stormzy, and Lewis Hamilton filled the front row, turning the event into a rare fusion of fashion, music, sports, and internet celebrity culture.
Demna’s Gucci debut was loud, ironic, and unapologetically excessive — exactly what modern luxury fashion needed. It is no longer just a fashion house. It becomes a mirror reflecting the anxieties, desires, and contradictions of contemporary culture itself.
