Chanel takes Seoul

Chanel Seoul

CHANEL Cruise 2026 Show, Seoul – May 2026

CHANEL brought its global fashion narrative to Seoul in May 2026, reaffirming the South Korean capital’s status as one of luxury fashion’s most influential cultural hubs. The event marked the presentation of the House’s Métiers d’Art 2026 collection, the first of its kind under the creative direction of Matthieu Blazy, and represented a significant moment in the brand’s ongoing relationship with Korea. The collection was unveiled at the newly opened Centre Pompidou Hanwha, a venue that perfectly reflected CHANEL’s dialogue between heritage craftsmanship and contemporary culture.

Originally revealed in New York in December 2025, the Métiers d’Art collection arrived in Seoul on 26 May 2026 as a celebration of the exceptional artisans whose savoir-faire lies at the heart of the House. Since its inception in 2002, the Métiers d’Art line has been dedicated to preserving and showcasing the work of specialist ateliers, from embroidery and feather-making to jewellery and tailoring. This season continued that tradition while introducing Blazy’s fresh perspective on CHANEL’s storied codes.

The choice of Seoul was particularly meaningful. Beyond being one of the world’s strongest luxury markets, the city has emerged as a global cultural powerhouse, influencing fashion, music, film, and digital culture on an international scale. CHANEL has long maintained close ties with Korea through exhibitions, cultural initiatives, and ambassador relationships, making Seoul a natural destination for one of the House’s most prestigious presentations.

On the runway, the collection showcased the extraordinary craftsmanship that defines Métiers d’Art. Intricate embellishments, refined tailoring, and artisanal details highlighted the expertise of CHANEL’s partner workshops while maintaining a contemporary spirit. The setting of the Centre Pompidou Hanwha reinforced the collection’s dialogue between art and fashion, underscoring the House’s commitment to creativity and cultural exchange.

With a front row featuring international celebrities, fashion insiders, and CHANEL ambassadors, the Seoul presentation was more than a runway show—it was a statement of the city’s growing influence within the global luxury landscape and a landmark debut for Matthieu Blazy’s vision of CHANEL craftsmanship in the 21st century.
