DUR DOUX at NYFW ’22

DUR DOUX SHOWED AW 2022 COLLECTION, LA NOUVELLE MOSAÏQUE, AT NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

Mother Daughter Team Presented “New Mosaic” Inspired Collection for Autumn|Winter 2022 at NYFW
February 13, 2022 (New York, NY): Cynthia and Najla Burt, the mother daughter duo behind Dur Doux
showed their Autumn | Winter 2022 collection, “La Nouvelle Mosaïque” at NYFW on February 13, 2022
at Bryant Park.

The collection is a contemporary fashion interpretation of an ancient popular art form mosaic
art. The color palette for the collection is exceptionally vibrant with focal colors of very peri,
tyrian purple, goldenrod, cobalt blue, and jungle green. The 28 womenswear looks are constructed of
luxurious, somptuous prints on velvet, sateen, jersey, and knits of poignant contemporary mosaic art.
The collection is an exquisite composition of dresses, skirts, tops and sweaters, pants, outerwear, and
evening wear in designs that mimic abstract forms and objects and irregular pieces of colored stone,
glass, and ceramics.

This season, for the first time, Dur Doux presented menswear alongside their women’s ready to wear
collection. Dur Doux Homme is a collaboration between Dur Doux and DC based menswear designer,
Andrew Nowell. Nowell describes his design aesthetic as tailored sportswear with an urban edge and a
nod to Savile Row. Ten menswear looks will walk the runway for the fall collection accompanied by luxury
handbag brand, Nila Bags and select looks from their collaboration with D. L. Hughley.
Dur Doux is also excited to have collaborated with jewelry brand TruFacebyGrace to add finishing
touches on the runway looks with their beautiful, unique pieces handcrafted in Africa. The collaboration
is also a way to honor Black History Month and the incredible Ghanian Artistry/Heritage of the founder
Grace Yeboah Ofori.

Celebrities in attendance included WNBA all-stars Napheesa Collier and Betnijah Laney, Olympian
Jerome Blake, Singer Dante Bowe, and Josh Kalu of the NY Giants. Additionally, influencers like Alice
Rowland, current Mrs. World Zambia, Saje Nicole, Sports Illustrated model and actress, and Project
Runway’s, Mimi Tao walked the show. In addition to showing their full collection at the runway show, the brand will also be a part of the Black In Fashion Council’s Discovery Showroom with IMG, February 14- 16, 2022.
