Chinese Knitwear brand JUNNE debuts in London for AW19 !
Influenced by renowned Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, designer Junne Lau artistically constructs the garments from a single yarn. Pieces are skillfully woven together in a series of 2D textures and 3D shapes; reconstructed to celebrate a particular skeletory series.
Referencing the specifically admirable compilation; Junne shapes the yarns to form bone-like textures in the form of a lengthy cape and fine knitted tops. The collection depicts pain into contemporary fashion with a sleek metal green sweater and a white cocoon knitted dress.
Transforming silhouettes with fluidly iridescent dresses; coats fastened with metal belts; and tops pierced with continuous pins – the collection replicates a sleek and concise interpretation of artistry.
The brand is constructed by Junne Lau; the only knitwear participant in the first season of Fashion Master – China’s equivalent of project runway. Winning praises from Vogue China’s Editor in Chief Angelica Chang, Junne is an acclaimed designer in China for her innovative, expertise in knitwear.
This season, JUNNE takes the Runway for the first time in London for AW19.
