9th of December 2019, United States – The day when Tyler Perry Studios from Atlanta, Georgia hosted the 68th edition of the Miss Universe beauty contest. The day when Catriona Gray from the Philippines who was the 2018 winner, crowned her successor by the end of the event.
And who was the successor this year? Nobody else but … Zozibini Tunzi, Miss South Africa 2019. A wonderful 25 year old girl, a PR specialist whose self confidence has easily won the full admiration of a jury made of 7 women, the show host, Steve Harvey…and the entire world who watched the full competition.
Zozibini’s charm and amazing looks received full applause through the entire show especially during the questions round. When asked by Steve Harvey what is the most important thing to teach young girls nowadays, Zozibini answered ‘leadership’. Zozibini’s answer comes as a game changer as she wishes to support women to become leaders and change the label society has put on them until now, to follow their dreams, take up space and create a better world as they are the strongest human beings on Earth.
On top of that, coming from a world where, as Zozibini stated, a young girl with her type of skin and short hair was never considered beautiful, her winning the Miss Universe title puts things in a whole new and refreshing perspective.
Well done, Zozibini! You are a game changer and the world needs more of that for a brighter future.
