Ever wondered what happens if Cuba met Copenhagen?
Christian Juul Nielsen presented his SS21 AKNVAS collection during New York Fashion Week on September 15th, on Runway360.
For his SS21 women’s collection and debut of the brand’s menswear capsule collection, creative director Christian Juul Nielsen turned to his travels in the Carribean, imagining a world that blends his Danish upbringing with a laid-back tropical lifestyle.
About AKNVAS: AKNVAS is an advanced-contemporary brand designed by creative director Christian Juul Nielsen. After spending years at design houses including Dior (working under John Galliano and Raf Simons) and Oscar de la Renta, Nielsen decided to launch his own brand.
He is also working as the Creative Director of Herve Leger. The brand has quickly become a favorite of Kate Bosworth, Emily Blunt, and Emilia Clark. A finalist for the Rising Star Womenswear award in 2019, the brand is sold on Rent the Runway, in select boutiques, and on the brand’s e-commerce site.
