SIMONE ROCHA at LFW

Simone Rocha

18th of February 2023, London, United Kingdom – London is breathing fashion again under the new season of London Fashion Week with designers collections shining on stage ready to make true statements through their creations. Simone Rocha was one of the the creators who wanted to make a new strong fashion statement in her Ready-to-Wear Autumn Winter 2023 collection.

Simone Rocha aimed to catalyze the expansion of her design language addressed both to men and women using the theme of Lughnasadh, the Irish harvest festival that goes back to pagan times which was giving the chance for communities to commingle.

“I started looking into the rituals of relationships, because I wanted to continue to show women and men together: how they correspond,” said Rocha before the show. That correspondence, or dialogue, has already been heard at retail. She said of her menswear: “we have men buying it, we have women buying it, and that’s been really natural.”

Under a Celtic sound composition made by a group of musicians on the blood red carpet of Westminster’s cavernous Central Methodist Hall with the models walking around the first level circle of the hall ornated staircase in all sets of looks ranging from golden womenswear looks, lace gowns, all-raffia totemic dresses to darker looks including one menswear ensemble consistent with a clasically cut black car coat over a nappa pant, the show seemed as an exploration of Irish rituals and living.

“It’s lust and love and that idea of ritual,” offered Rocha. With great color pallette and great technical details throwing back to Simone Rocha’s working times at Moncler, the Autumn-Wintre show and collection were a tribute to the Irish culture and a genderless approach of the following Fall season.
