5th of October, Paris, France – An 80’s flash into 2021 is what draws the theme of the new Chanel Spring-Summer 2022 collection presented during Paris Fashion Week.
The artistic director of the house, Virginie Viard, wanted to capture the magic of fashion seen through a photographer’s lens as it was back in the 1980’s when models were catwalking on raised runways surrounded by photographers and flashbulbs.
With a romantic mood pictured in the mysterious shades of the classic black and white Chanel combo, the collection brings also a touch of colour with playful summer stripes and a butterfly wing pattern on black chiffon.
It was a Chanel show that reminded of the catwalk emotion back in 1980-1990s beautifully lensed by the photography duo Inez and Vinoodh in pictures but also backstage videos making the top models have the time of their life while doing the runway for the SS 22 ready-to-wear collection.
