CHANEL Spring-Summer 2020

“Chanel is above all a style. Fashion passes, style remains.” Gabrielle Chanel

21st of January 2020, Paris – The majestic and imposing Grand Palais is ready to host one more time the iconic Chanel Spring – Summer 2020 Collection Haute-Couture show.

Virginie Viard, the fashion designer who took over Chanel from Karl Lagerfeld, wanted to bring back to life the childhood days of Coco Chanel when she had been sent to the convent of Aubazine, the French region of Corrèze, where girls had to wear black-and-white uniforms.

A major throwback to the era representing the first and most important source of inspiration for Coco Chanel. Those are the days when she learned to be strict and perfectionist in life just like the unforgiving nuns taking care of the girls from Aubazine. Those were the days when she learned how to sew and when the clean, simple, black-and-white aesthetic has put a life mark on the personal style of the designer. A style she would have later on transform into the richest and most precious simple garments in fashion.

A childhood story brought back to life on the occasion of Spring-Summer 2020 collection show from the Haute-Couture week.
