ACNE STUDIOS Women’s collection FW21 – from dreamscape to reality !
Acne Studios creative director, Jonny Johansson, sees his collection like a “dreamscape” followed by a comeback to reality – a mix of floral pastels colors and monochromatic black and white looks.
“I was thinking about what happens when we emerge from isolation, the same but also somehow different”, he adds.
The first part of the collection is inspired by the Swedish countryside spirit, where Johansson spent the lockdown, while the end of it is a homage to outfits worn for important moments of one’s life such as weddings and funeral or simply events and parties, unfortunately all restricted during the pandemics.
The idea of moving from a dreamscape to the awakened reality is characterized by sweetness and elegant refinement.
Fabrics are soft and worn, the silhouettes are voluminous yet shaped, proposing wrap coats in floral printed wool remembering dressing gowns, textured knits with ragged hems, oversized tops, skirts or pants imagined like open-structure cable knits worn directly on skin.
In addition to this, there are many others highlights of the collection such as the cozy shearling hats, the collapsible suede bags in geometric shapes, leather trenches and jackets with a denim-like aesthetic evoking the brand’s origins, the Musubi mini bag in denim-look leather, thigh-high leather boots with seams on the outside, and knitted socks matched with stilettos.
In collaboration with the Swedish brand, artist Apollinaria Broche created ceramic animals, which replaced bags and oversize mask eyewear and miniature ceramic animals, worn as a necklace.
The Acne Studios Women’s FW21 show film, captured by Casper Sejersen, was broadcasted live on Instagram on the 3rd of March, and on the official website, but you can still find them online for an in-depth look.
