LA Fashion Week (LAFW) kicked off on Friday March 22nd with a VIP invite-only opening reception held at the Petersen Automotive Museum. Guests were welcomed to the Petersen with a red carpet with a backdrop of greenery covered in red roses with saxophonist, Geovany, serenading guests as they entered the museum.
The event highlighted two well known designers – world renowned designer, Naeem Khan, and LA’s own, Walter Mendez and Ryan Patros of the Walter Collection, both who presented their Fall/Winter 2019 collections.
Kalee Hewitt, a fashion and lifestyle expert based in the U.K. welcomed guests to the evening before the shows began.
Walter Collection opened the show and Naeem Khan was the headliner for the night.
LAFW continued on Saturday, 3/23, with presentations by 4 different designers: AyA by DK (designer Name: Dina Kabdolla), Casanova, Romy Collection (designer Name: Romy Hourani), Nicholas Mayfield.
LAFW ended on Sunday, 3/24, with presentations by 3 different designers:
King Design (designer Name: Jessica King); Gianna Ricci (designer name: Fatima Filali Idrissi), The Yard (designer Name: Hessa Alhemel).
Proclaimed by Mayor Eric Garcetti & California State Senator Ben Allen as the Official Fashion Week for the City of Los Angeles, LAFW has been recognized by former First Lady Michelle Obama for its innovative programs supporting cultural diversity in the United States. This season, LAFW continued it’s partnership with Petersen Automotive Museum and received additional support from BASIC Magazine and Redken.
