The “Russian Mosaics” Fall-Winter 20-21 collection by Rohmir rocks London Fashion Week at Victoria House with a boost of colour and shapes specific to the beautiful native country of Olga Roh, the founder of the brand.
The show makes the public dive for minutes in a row into the passionate Russian universe. On the rythm of “Petrushka” (ballet, by Stravinsky) everybody is introduced to the world of the dance and grace, followed by the models catwalking in the feminine rubashka-dress (long short-dress).
The body-slimming, very sharp shaped reinvented version of a traditional dress, the shimmering, blurred fabrics of the outfits, almost performed with impressionistic brushes, create almost a cinematic scenario as if models are walking on a winter evening through a bright lit street to a sparkling and funny folk festival.
The “Russian mosaics” by Rohmir is all about the Russian soul, the main source of inspiration for the entire collection: Zhostovo metal painting handicraft, Palekh lacquer miniature, Khokhloma wood painting, Kholuy and Fedoskino decorated flowers, the folk Gzhel painting in marvellous blue and white roses and last but not least the rich world of the famous Pavlovo-Posad shawls.
