#VALENTINOTHEBEGINNING, 8th of July, Rome – The latest Valentino Haute Couture collection signed by Pierpaolo Piccioli, the creative director of the house, happened on the Spanish Steps from Piazza di Spagna in Rome.
The collection with more than 100 looks transmits a very personal message through its designs about the Valentino Garavani story.
Mr. Valentino Garavani founded his brand in 1959, together with his partner Giancarlo Giammetti and their first atelier was located right in Via Gregoriana at the top of the Spanish Steps. Piccioli wanted this fashion show to start right where the original sartoria di Alta Moda took place like a sign of completing a circle.
After more than 20 years of working for the house of Valentino, Piccioli brought his own interpretation of the house codes with geometric, volumetry, flowery, both delicate and strong designs dedicated to men and women.
Sugestively entitled “The Beginning”, the Fall 2022 Valentino collection is not a celebration of any particular date as Piccioli stated but can rather be considered a promise for a dynamic couture future, a highlight on the message that the most important thing in a design is the person wearing it.
The diverse cast of fashion models was just perfect to celebrate the idea of diversity and to show that any piece of design can transform its fashion perspective according to the wearer.
It was a sophisticated eclectic collection which mixes the Valentino codes, Piccioli’s personal vision for the house with elements coming from Roman history, showcased on the Spanish Steps from Piazza di Spagna, a grandiose location from Rome.
