A need for good old days romanticism and realness has made a comeback in Marni‘s Fall-Winter 2021-2022 women collection.
Tired of the rules imposed by the digital savvy of showcasing collections during the “pandemic” Fashion Weeks, the artistic director of the house Francesco Risso felt a huge need to see life actually manifesting itself again with all the set of emotions.
Screened on Zoom and organized in Risso’s apartment from Milan during the 2021 Spring Fashion Week, the presentation portrayed a familiar lockdown situation which turned to a fashion show culminated with a performance of Mykki Blanco.
The collection expressed a ladylike romanticism under a multicultural approach with materials “coloured” by the corrosion of nature on the all black garments placed by Risso in his garden and embelished with real flowers for a while especially to show the dyeing power of nature.
Risso’s designs proposal came as a “next level” elevation of the lockdown comfort as a heads-up to not forget the need for originality, beauty and the fashion techniques which all grown the industry to an art level as we know it.
