The Angels of LOUIS VUITTON

October 2020, Paris, France – A little throwback to Paris Fashion Week would not be complete without an overview of the Spring-Summer 2021 collection from Louis Vuitton. A vibrant, energetic collection that celebrates gender fluidity and inclusion imagined by Nicholas Ghesquiere for the brand and showcased both physically and digitally at La Samaritaine department store in Paris.

With 360 degrees cameras monted around, viewers from home could watch the entire show just like being there. Scenes from the famous movie “Wings of desire” highlighted the idea of “Angels” as the key ellements making the connection between the movie and Louis Vuitton collection. Just like Angels have no gender, so was Ghesquiere’s collection created in the zone between feminity and masculinity.

With an 80’s colour theme, a non-binary set of designs and an appeal to freedom, the Louis Vuitton SS21 collection makes a point about inclusivity, openness and vision broadening so much needed after an year filled with pandemic changes .
