Discovering emerging artists ready to conquer the fashion world has always been the FM24 “thing” and now we are ready to bring to the spotlight a talented designer whose creations have caught our attention during Paris Fashion Week. We are talking about Raluca Bratu, fashion designer of MEIKÖ Paris, a newly founded fashion brand which identifies itself as an opulent reinterpretation of classic tailoring.

Coming from Romania and nowadays based in Paris, Raluca has discovered her passion for fashion design from a very young age and later on in life she decided to take things to the next level and invest in her talent.

She went to Paris and attended the courses of Istituto Marangoni Paris, one of the best fashion schools chosen by numerous artists to make their first steps in the fields of art and fashion.

Shortly after graduating Istituto Marangoni, Raluca Bratu started Meikö Paris, a brand dedicated to strong, confident women who wish to empower themselves with elegant, posh and cool designs. The brand comes as a manifesto, a self expression by wearing Meikö Paris.

All the items are hand made, a signature which is Raluca’s personal touch to make each piece in her collections unique.

**‘Sous les étoiles’ collection by Meikö Paris**

Today we are going to have a little chat with Raluca who is actually on the set of a shoot for one of her collections, to get to know her and her fashion vision a little bit more.

1.Fashion Magazine 24: Hello Raluca! How are you? We are pleased to visit you during your collection shooting in Paris for a cool quick chat! The FM24 readers are always happy to discover sophisticated brands like yours which can put a new spin on their wardrobe! As we can see your brand MEIKÖ PARIS is promising to change some perspectives soon enough…

Raluca Bratu (Meikö Paris) : Hello FM24! I love you came to visit us during our shooting!I feel inspired to meet your team and your readers and have this refreshing chat with you!

2.FM24: That’s awesome! Let’s roll then with our first quiz question… One word about yourself would be…?

RB (Meikö Paris): The best word that defines me is: genuine. All that i do and all that i create speak entirely about ME – all my collections are my creations 100%.To be authentic, real, unique is the message i wish to deliver in my life and in my art.

3. FM24: What is your definition of “fashion”…?

RB: My definition: “Fashion is statement“. Design does not just happen out of pure imagination and nothing else more just like designers are not magicians who just create things from scratch in one second. Everything that leads to a unique great statement fashion piece is based on a process summed up of four key elements: silhouette, detail, texture and colour.

4. FM24: The most fashionable city for you, your favorite style, your favourite brand and your “MUST” item are..?

RB: I live in the magical Paris where i got inspired to create and develop my brand…but somehow my creativity path and my brand’s style are leading me to say that London is my favourite fashion city. It is so effervescent, so vibrant, London is truly an incredible mix of tradition and originality.

About my favourite brand … I am forever in love with the creations of Christian Dior, my favorite designer of all times. The more i have studied fashion i got addicted to understanding the impact of shapes in a creation, the importance of classic but original fashion statements … That is why my “MUST” item, the piece i cannot imagine my wardrobe without and which can be literally worn in any possible way …. is the Blazer.

5. FM24: Your wish for the future of the fashion world would be…?

RB: I wish fashion becomes more compact, wearable and sustainable in the future. Like that we will be able to choose more statement “immortal “pieces in our wardrobes and to understand the priority of quality over quantity.

6. FM24: This is true! We must go a little bit more back to the times when quality was ruling the international fashion scene. Getting to know you more, Raluca, during one of your shootings for your brand, Meikö Paris is an inspiration for us and for the worldwide fashionistas community.
